Welcome to Howard's House Therapeutic School
The school is planned to open in Sept 2026 subject to Ofsted and planning approval.
The school is overseen by the same team as Stone Lodge Therapeutic School in Northamptonshire.
I am the Principal of Stone Lodge and I will oversee the work of Howard’s House as Chair of Governors – providing support for the new Headteacher and lead clinician.
I have led Pupil Referral Units, special schools and secure children’s homes over the last 20 years. Mohammed Damani is the representative of the proprietorial body – he has extensive experience in leading Pupil Referral Units and working in special schools side by side with myself.
Between us we will ensure that the school is child centred and research led – providing the best possible environment for the children to thrive.
Howard's House School
Howard's House is an independent SEN specialist school based in Cardington Bedford but welcomes referrals from local authorities nationally. We cater for children aged 11-17, all of whom have an Education Health and Care Plan with main presenting needs in the area of Social, Emotional and Mental Health and/ or Autism Spectrum Condition. Most pupils SEMH needs relate to anxiety and self harm – or emotionally based school avoidance.
